TREASURES OF DARKNESS

at Pyramid Gallery 43 Stonegate

2nd December - 10th January



I have called this collection of work ‘Treasurers of Darkness’ from the verse in Isaiah 45:3 - ‘I will give you the Treasures of Darkness and the hoards in the secret places’.  Most of the new, small, ‘jewel’ like paintings here, have been  ‘mined’ from the darkness of the past three and a half years of major illness.   Rediscovering the beauty of colour and watercolour has been a joy.


I have often thought of this verse in connection with Printmaking too, the inks, etching grounds and metal plates, all mined from the dark places of the earth. 


It has been so good to have this opportunity to get back into work. Thank you Terry for encouraging me.
